Born and raised in the hills of western Maryland, I grew up constantly surrounded by nature. Even though I loved my small town, I longed to travel the world. After graduating from the University of Maryland with my Master of Science in Nursing, I traveled to Costa Rica and fell in love with the country, the pura vida lifestyle, and my now husband. While living in Costa Rica, we started our family. The challenges and joys of both living abroad and parenting in a different country instilled in me a deep appreciation for finding the peace in every situation and learning true resilience. Eventually, I moved back home to focus on my career. I have worked in various areas of mental health to include Adolescent and Adult Inpatient Psych, Outpatient Psych, PHP/IOP, Emergency/Crisis and Corrections. Through all of these experiences, I have developed a well-rounded and pragmatic approach to mental health that is built on compassion and balance. I began my own practice to better serve my community in meaningful ways and to incorporate all of my influences into my work. I am a strong advocate for living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I enjoy practicing yoga, exercising frequently, and spending quality time outdoors with my friends and family. The ocean is especially grounding for me, and helps to rejuvenate my energy while helping me find peace, balance and calmness.
